Arks-n-Sparks Portable Appliance Testing

Mobile Disco PAT Testing

What is a PAT test?

A PAT test is an electrical safety test for any item with a plug attached.

Portable appliance testing of electrical items used for a professional purpose is compulsory with electrical safety acts.

When an item has passed a portable appliance test a green pass sticker is placed on the appliance, the date when the item should be re-tested is written on the sticker.

PAT tests should be carried out annually.

The same way a car needs to go through an MOT once a year,

an electrical item requires a P.A.T once a year.

What equipment should be tested and why?

All equipment which uses a plug should be tested

to include:

CD Players
Mixers
Turntables
Amps
Radio Microphones
Light Controllers / Chasers
Equalisers
Cross-Over’s
Effects Lights
Smoke Machines
Par Cans
Spot Lights
Extension Leads

And all of the other electrical items you have.

Please Note - All eligible equipment for PAT testing must carry

1.......The 'CE' mark or the 'BS Standard' mark

2...... All leads & appliances must have British plugs only.

You are not required to test Speakers or speaker leads.

Apart from peace of mind, knowing that your equipment has

                                       been tested and deemed safe.

Many venues, especially council owned venues such as

Leisure Centre's

no longer allow use of disco equipment which is not PAT tested.

If you cannot do the job as you are not PAT tested

then it will go to your competitor who is.

When taking bookings for a PAT tested venue many disco's

 increase their price,

which you can justify to cover the cost of the testing.

How much does it cost?

Please ring with the number of items or fill in the online request form.

Arks-n-Sparks are very competitive and guarantee to beat any legitimate written quotations

within reasonable travelling distance.

Remember if your equipment proves faulty at a venue and causes damage, fire or fatality.

You will be held responsible and since the introduction of

'no win no fee' claims services people have found it even easier

 making claims against unsuspecting businesses.

In the United Kingdom last year there was £4.5 billion paid out in liability insurance claims.

Do not risk your disco business going under

due to not having the adequate

Electrical Safety Certificate to validate your insurance,

that will help to fully protect

your business.

REMEMBER;

EVERYTHING  FITTED  WITH AN  ELECTRICAL  PLUG –

MUST BE TESTED
